Hello BCC Members! Welcome to the latest Buffy Collector Club newsletter. SAVE BUFFY FIGURES Buffy has died many deaths and has been revived many times, both literally and figuratively. The merchandising of this property has been a roller coaster ride and our BCC club was created to keep the merchandise coming and make it easy to pre-order all of the future product. But what happens when a manufacturer pulls the plug? When MAC canceled the action figures, we were there to help persuade DST to continue where MAC left off. Now the time has come to do do it again, as DST has recently decided to cancel the Buffy/Angel action figure lines. This cancellation includes both the new Revamped lines and the standard 6" action figure line. While, we had already been working on a plan to keep the line going, independent from our work, the fans themselves have organized a campaign to Save the Buffy Figures. More info on this campaign is here (we take no credit for this fan based movement). We have been asked to cooperate with this campaign, so to make it easy for every Buffy fan to help, we will be opening our membership club store, Buffy Collector Club (www.BuffyCollectorClub.com) to everyone for one day only, Wednesday, August 29, 2007. Here you will be able to learn more about how you can help save the Buffy Figures! We have put together a list of proposed action figure products for which we would be interested in commissioning from DST to be produced as exclusives for our stores. So please check out the SAVE BUFFY FIGURES campaign and also stop by our BCC store to vote on what you what us to have manufactured. Anyone, whether a member or not will have full access to the BCC store to purchase product and/or vote on proposed products. Access will be open from Midnight to Midnight EST August 29, 2007. The Save Buffy campaign may change things, so we will wait until after that to announce. BUFFY SEASON 8 COMIC SUBSCRIPTION! The first through fourth issues of the Joss Whedon comic that continues the Buffy TV series are still in stock. We have subcriptions plans for both BCC Chosen members, and non-Chosen BCC members. WILLOW BUST The next addition to the DST detailed character busts is another terrific Willow Bust, this time from "Villians" episode. Pre-orders are up now. ESSENCE STATUES We are excited to announce in detail the next line of Buffy Statues - "The Essence of..." While not based on any particular moment from either Buffy or Angel, each piece dynamically captures the core of the character. As an added bonus the statues will all include a similar styled base and for the fist time in Buffy statues - lighted features! The Buffy statue features an incredible likeness of Sarah Michelle Gellar, staking a vamp. Willow is seen floating above a library of books and lit candles, while the Spike statue has him standing stoically - surrounded by flames. Lastly, the Angel piece features him kicking a door down with a blue light shining from above. Each of these detailed statues was sculpted by the talented artisans at Jean St. Jean Studios utilizing digital scans of the actors. The first statue "Essence of Spike" is scheduled for a Summer 2007 release. That means if you joined any day in AUGUST 2006 and have not renewed yet, your membership will expire at the end of AUGUST 2007.
